Shepherd’s Gate: Shelter for battered and homeless woman and children for up to three weeks, and can provide food and clothing in moderation.  They provide a safe haven for women and their children who are homeless because of abusive relationships, addictions, loss of financial support and other factors.

Tri-Valley Haven:
Shelter for battered women, and rape crisis center.  They provide shelter, counseling, support groups, legal services for temporary restraining orders, information and referrals.

Immediate help for victims
A key component of Contra Costa County’s safety net, STAND! addresses violence on several fronts to build safe and strong families and to provide shelter and resources for victims escaping violent homes.

The 24-Hour Crisis Line provides crisis intervention and peer support by telephone 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Emergency Shelter
Their 24-bed facility, part of the Rollie Mullen Center for women and children (up to age 16) is a safe place where clients can stay for up to 12 weeks. Clients participate in daily meetings and on-going case management with access to housing referrals, legal advocacy, vocational services and job readiness training, and ongoing workshops on a variety of topics, including budgeting and positive parenting skills.
